The Mitutoyo 500-173 Absolute Digimatic Caliper has a measuring range of 0–12″ / 0–300 mm with 0.0005″ / 0.01 mm resolution. It includes SPC data output and a thumb roller for smooth measurement operation.
This caliper features a large, clear LCD readout, inch/metric conversion, and a Zero/Absolute key that allows the display to be zero-set at any slider position for incremental comparison measurements. The same key also allows a return to Absolute (ABS) mode, showing the true position from the origin point, usually the jaws-closed position. The ABS system ensures that the origin only needs to be set once, retaining the reference even if the instrument is powered off. Incremental measurements can be performed at any time without losing the origin setting.
